visited my two sons and one daughter in Europe.
Venezuelan emigration.
This is in contrast to my parent’
emigration from war torn Europe, from Hungary in 1947 to Venezuela.
A perfect circle.

through my mid-life crisis?
That is when I needed the sheer joy and humour of this
calypso.

Thanks, Nigel:
After my operation had an infection which sent me back
to the hospital for 5 days
Now finally back home and following antibiotic
treatment until Saturday.
Otherwise, stay at hospital was very good and
doctors/nurses very attentive-helps in the recovery.
So far, still in good health and doing some consulting
work around Latin America for a UK bank.

Still remember very clearly counting down the days
during each trimester at MSB (1956-1962) to leave school and return home for
the Easter, Summer and Christmas vacations.
Just could not wait to leave the Mount for Piarco to
board the airplane to Maiquetia.
There was no excitement whatsoever when I had to board
the plane in Maiquetia for the return to Piarco.
At the very end after taking the GEs, I left with
Peter De Morvay the very day after the last exam was taken.
In those days there were no celebrations, no
recognitions, nor graduation parties, nothing at all in 1962 for those of us
who were there for the last time.
I was very glad and happy to depart “forever”.
Not sure what were your personal emotions and feelings
when you were at the mount versus leaving it.
Times have indeed changed and we see the nostalgia by
many to return, to reminisce, to reconnect, to go back again…..quite a change
after so many, many years.

I arrived at MSB at the early age of 10 in 1956 and
finished school in 1962.
Returned for a visit in 1968; students had not
returned from vacation.
Visited with Fathers Bernard and Augustine.
Joe Azar happened to be there too at the time, and he
took me to POS where I had the opportunity to visit with Lionel Roberts.
There was no formal alumni group at that time to the
best of my knowledge.

Greetings!
Aqui esta mi update.
Norman Smith: Mount Boy from 1961 to 1966
Living in Key Biscayne (Miami) in an "empty"
nest with my wonderful (second) wife Maria Candelaria, and the pets (all
female):
"GingerAle" is a 16 year old toy poodle,
almost deaf but still in great shape…
"Snowbi" is a small strange mutt that is
quite a character and an avid iguana huntress, as well as a loud guard dog…
and then there is "Lolis", an African Grey
bilingual parrot with a good ear that can bark like all the dogs in the
vicinity.
4 Daughters:
Vanessa from my first marriage has a wonderful husband
and they are both rearing two wonderful boys (Liam Charles age 11, and Simon Finn
age 5).
They were living in Kensington, MA, but have recently
moved to LA, California.
Cayetana, oldest of my girls created with Maria, is
living and working in LA doing what she wants and likes, and in a very good
position to succeed.
Emilia is becoming a dentist in Boston (BU) and looks
forward to becoming an Orthodontist.
Rosana, at 20 is the "baby" and she is in
her second year at Fordham University in NYC and still trying to figure things
out.
All four daughters are really spectacular and I am
very proud of them.
Will send photos later.

First degree in economics, then two Masters Degrees,

Hi All - thank you for the warm welcome into the
group, and thank you for the accolades Jon, although in reality I am just a
regular person- living by grace and fighting the same challenges as anyone
else.
Glen - I actually remember you at MSB (you would have
been in IV or V when I was in Prep or I) - you used to play the guitar during
recess and at the time I thought that was so cool:
That image was part of the inspiration that led me to
eventually take the instrument up (although certainly not as good as you!).
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing where this
group leads.

We've been trying for over 13 years to contact all the
Old Boys (we call them OB's, in case you're wondering about our strange
terminology) of MSB, and it's always a treat to finally locate just one more of
the group.
We correspond largely vis email rather than Facebook or
Linkedin, as there is a lot of material being sent around, and we'd probably
find it difficult to send it via these other media.
We'd love to communicate with you also, but for that

But this group is not a social media blog group like
Facebook to discuss family, holiday and photos.
It is for a relatively small clan of Old MSBs who are
still working, mentoring or educating others or event looking for interesting
later in life earning potential.
We have rules (as all Linked In Groups are required to
have).
So members will know when they are in synch or off the
track.
Check the site structure.
You do an outstanding job of keeping the alumni in
touch but my focus is to network for the more narrow business and social
enterprise activities.
